THE BIG ONE is a true story about Martha’s Vineyard’s Annual Fishing Derby for Striped Bass and Bluefish. The book tells of some early derby history, but the core of the book is based on the 2007 season. The author tells the story threw his experiences of fishing along side some of the better known local fishermen. I enjoyed reading the stories that were told of past derbies and new stories from the 2007 season. Well worth the reading if you like fishing for Striped Bass.

Ideal for beginners to experienced because it starts with basics and through anecdotes and stories, moves on to the advanced. I found this book to be entertaining and informative with excellent photos.
